The Story:

Downtown Dwellings founders, Mark Brown and Jill Judy are dedicated to purchasing distressed buildings in the heart of the historic areas of downtown Little Rock, Arkansas. They thoughtfully restore each property, restoring the architectural features while adding modern elements and conveniences.

“We believe that by preserving these wonderful historic properties, both homes and commercial buildings, and creating in them quality living space for today’s lifestyle makes our community a better place.” Jill Judy, co-owner.

Each apartment is unique; each building has a character all its own. The company has restored and created apartment homes and urban lofts from hundred-year-old houses, school buildings, even a former church. The neighborhoods as well have their own special character, with some among quiet, shade-lined streets, others nearer to the bustle of downtown.

“Downtown Dwellings offers more than a place to live. It is all

about community, and neighbors, and saving these beautiful old neighborhoods. We invite you to become part of it.”

– Mark Brown, co-owner.

Monica has been married for 8 years and she and her wife have two wonderful sons- Noah, 8 and Bently, 2. As a native Arkansan that grew up in North Little Rock, she and her family are avid campers and boaters and enjoy vacationing together; partaking in all things outdoors. Monica loves learning new skills, meeting new people, and helping others. She thinks downtown Little Rock is a beautiful place with lots of rich history and she appreciates the interesting people and events our town has to offer.

Lindsey started her career with Downtown Dwellings at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 as the leasing manager and, in 2021, made the shift to Operations. She currently oversees the management of the company – primarily handling the finances and strategic planning, Lindsey also wears the hats of resident relations, maintenance coordinator, and troubleshooter extraordinaire. Before her life with DD, Lindsey was in the financial industry, spending 7 years on the trading floor at Stephens Inc. and then another 8 years in financial software, focusing on regulatory reporting and trading functionality.

Lindsey is a self-professed SoMa-ite and Downtowner to the core. She and her wife built their house in SoMa in 2018 and Lindsey has been involved throughout the years with SoMa 501, the Arkansas Cornbread Festival, and The Studio Theatre.
