Sunday marks the last day of the 2019 season for the Bernice Garden Farmers’ Market. This community market runs every Sunday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. rain or shine on the corner of Daisy Gatson Bates and South Main Street in Downtown Little Rock.
The Bernice Garden opened in 2007 with principles of staying sustainable throughout the years. It was created to celebrate the South of Main community and features temporary and permanent sculptures created by local artists. This Garden filled with mosaics, art installations and rock formations remains a great place to host events and foster community and pride among neighbors.
One of the best parts of the market — it offers an open space for local farmers and growers to sell their products to the local community. Since most other markets run on Saturdays, this gives the locals an opportunity to get out in our walkable neighborhood and meet their neighbors. At the market, you can find vegetables, fruit, flowers, herbs, nuts, berries, cheese, prepared food as well as other handmade goods. And if you want to hang around, there is always live music and food trucks.
The market is close too! It is walkable from most of our apartments and Sunday is a great day to get out and stroll the neighborhood, grab some vegetables for the week, and grab a casual lunch at the newly branded Mockingbird Bar & Tacos, Community Bakery, South on Main, The Root, or Raduno Brick Oven and Barroom.
The Bernice Garden is also available if you want to host a party, reception, wedding, or any type of celebration. See you at the market on Sunday!
